17 MAY 2014 ~ NZ ARTIST OF THE DAY:

CONNAN MOCKASIN

PLEASE TURN ME INTO THE SNAT

"As he proved on Forever Dolphin Love, he's not afraid to go theatrical. Like a cartoon madman, he delivered a warbling, wide-eyed plea on that record: "Please turn me into the snat". The title track of that album featured over 10 minutes of cluttered, kinetic, continuously shifting music. Connan's clearly got it in him to create a sizable, at times unsteady odyssey."
PITCHFORK review of Connan Mockasin's Caramel album

Hailing from the little town of Te Awanga near Cape Kidnappers in Hawkes Bay, Connan Mockasin has rallied around a crowd of supporters across the globe. His quirky and outside the box personality sets him apart. Connan's psychedalic pop flavoured music is endearing, and the end of each album leaves me curious to see what joy he will bring us next!
Currently he is touring madly around the planet... whenever he makes it home to NZ next we highly recommend that you see him!
Here's a little eclectic joy from the man himself....
